The practice of mindfulness can bring many benefits to your physical and emotional health as well as to the relationships in your life. Mindfulness is an excellent tool for stress management and overall wellness because it can be used at virtually any time and can bring about lasting results.
Mindfulness-based practices incorporate techniques such as meditation and yoga that can help individuals improve their ability to stay present in each moment, cope with stress, and be more authentic and emotionally intelligent. At its heart, mindfulness is the practice of paying attention from moment to moment in a non-judgmental way. This practice opens the door to greater awareness, wisdom, and self-healing. Mindfulness is perhaps, most simply, a way of learning to embrace life on its own terms, and in the process, to begin learning from it and growing in self-awareness, wisdom, inner peace and empathy.
MINDFULNESS CAN HELP YOU:
-recognize signs of stress and deal more effectively with challenging situations
-discover how thoughts can help or hinder stress management

-discover your true creative expression and live a more heartfelt life
Mindfulness based practices have been shown to help people in a variety of ways such as dealing with chronic pain (Kabat-Zinn, Lipworth, & Burney, 1985; Kabat-Zinn, Lipworth, Burney, & Sellers, 1986), anxiety disorders (Kabat-Zinn et al., 1992; Miller, Fletcher, & Kabat-Zinn, 1995), binge-eating (Kristeller & Hallett, 1999), reduction of stress among cancer patients (Carlson, Speca, Patel, & Goodey, 2003; Speca, Carlson, Goodey, & Angen, 2000; Tacón, Caldera, & Ronaghan, 2004), and increasing quality of life among those with traumatic brain injuries (Bédard et al., 2005). It has also been shown to increase gains among people involved in individual outpatient psychotherapy (Kutz et al., 1985; Weiss, Nordlie, & Siegel, 2005). Overall, empirical evidence suggests that MBSR can benefit a wide variety of people (Baer, 2003; Grossman, Niemann, Schmidt, & Walach, 2004). Mindfulness can increase one's degree of empathy (Wang, 2007) and compassion (Shapiro, Astin, Bishop, and Cordova, 2005). It can also improve one's ability to focus (Kerr et al., 2011) and have a beneficial impact on depression, anxiety, overall well-being, and stress (Spijkerman, 2016). Mindfulness can also improve chronic pain management, IBS, PTSD, and diabetes (Creswell, 2019). Mindfulness-based therapy also helped people ages 50 to 80 improve their sleep quality (Perini, 2021).
